Moving to San Diego♥

Our big move to San Diego wasn't the easiest, but it was definitely best for our growing family and that's all that matters to Andy and I:-)
When we first got married, we were living in a condo that Andy bought when he was 26 years old. It was nice at the time, for the two of us, but we eventually wanted to have children and house with a yard for them to enjoy.  I found out that I was pregnant with Bentley in August of 2009 and we immediately started house hunting every weekend. Our plan was to be in our new home before little B arrived. We ended up finding our dream home less than .3 miles from our condo, in the same community, which also happened to be Andy's best friend's home that was recently put on the market. This all seemed too good to be true, but even with my extreme over-the-top pickiness, this house had everything I wanted and more. It was perfect for us! The neighborhood was beautiful. The neighbors were our age, friendly and had children that would be close in age to ours as well.  Signing those papers and moving in,  just 2 1/2 months before my due date, never felt better. We quickly began the process of new carpet, paint, furniture, gardening, decorating our future baby's room and making it ours, just in time for our little bundle's arrival♥

The Moving Team

Fast forward one year-
We have our first child, figure out how to be parents, Bentley's 1st Christmas, first word, first steps, baptism, 1st birthday, finding out I'm pregnant with #2, making so many wonderful memories along the way and then, my husband calls me with the big news that he's being considered for the District Manager position in San Diego! We always knew this opportunity was in his future, but never imagined it would come so soon. Before I even had a chance to let it sink in, Andy had interviewed for the position, flown to Pennsylvania to meet the President of the company, and was officially offered the job as the new District Manager for PTL San Diego.
Words cannot express the pride I have in my husband, he never ceases to amaze me with his hard work, business skills, brains, and dedication. This was an opportunity that we'd be crazy to turn down. I needed to suck it up, stay strong for the family and make a fresh start for us in San Diego.
I had so many mixed feelings between the excitement of Andy's promotion and the sadness of selling our beautiful home and memories, on top of being an emotional preggo, but there was really no time for me to dwell on it. We had less than 2 months for Andy to start his new position and for us to pack up and sell our house.
We found a nice condo to live in, for the time being, so our family would be together and Andy wouldn't have to commute any longer. Oh, and thank GOODNESS for relocation incentives.  Among the amazing perks Andy was offered, we were given a moving team that packed up and moved our entire house and then unpacked everything for us;-)  Finding this out at 6 months pregnant was music to my ears!!
Now we've been in San Diego for about 10 months and it has just flown by! We have all fully adjusted to living in this beautiful city.  It was probably the toughest for me to leave my entire family as well, but I'm doing much better now.  You absolutely can't complain when living in a gorgeous city like this. The weather and surroundings here were a very warm welcome♥
I still think about the wonderful times we had in that house, but I also remind myself that Scarlett never even experienced living there. She is a true San Diegan, born and raised, and Bentley was too young to remember anything anyways. We are a San Diego family now and loving it.

The 4 of us, La Jolla

Until we begin the house hunt again, we are enjoying life down here with are our babies, having so much fun, and most importantly, my husband is right where he needs to be at this point in his career. He works for an incredible company and, as his wife, I support his career decisions 100%! Definitely not regretting this one:-)

Cousins at the Zoo.

My sister Marisa and I never miss an opportunity to get our little ones together for some true quality time.  The relationship between these little cousins is such a special one, they love each other as if they were siblings and the look on Bentley's face when I tell him we're going to see Ella, Gavi and Grant, is PRICELESS! This is the type of friendship that will last forever.

This visit started out with a sleepover at our place, followed by a trip to the San Diego Zoo the next day, everyone had a great time!!

I love the hands in the pockets!!

I had to capture this moment. Scarlett started crying on our way out and Bentley's little hand came out of nowhere to rub her arm in an attempt to calm her down♥ He makes me so proud.

What a fun day, can't wait to go back with all the cousins!!

Dear Bentley (2 years old),

Over the past few months Daddy and I have witnessed an explosion in your vocabulary and knowledge. You know all of your upper and lowercase alphabet as well as most numbers 1-10, struggling a little with 9, 6 and 4.   You can show me how old you are by holding up 2 little fingers now, and you actually say "2" along with it!! You spell out every word you see. While driving in the car I hear letters the entire time coming from the backseat as you are "reading" signs and billboards, it's incredible how quickly I was able to teach you:-) I also want you to know what a caring, kind, loving little boy you are becoming, all thanks to us giving you a baby sister to practice with♥ That was probably one of the greatest things we could have done for you as a human being because you've quickly had to learn how to be gentle with with someone younger and smaller than you are. You greet her in the morning, kiss her goodnight, give her hugs, wipe her mouth when she drools. You put her little hands together to make her clap, cover her with a blanket when she kicks it off, and the second you hear her start to cry, you jump up to go check on her. Seeing my baby boy do these things melts my heart and makes me so proud to be raising a son like you♥ We love you from the very bottom of our hearts and truly cannot wait to see what year 2 has in store for us all, Happy 2nd birthday Bentley!! xoxo
