Father's Day Fun♥

I couldn't ask for a better father to my children than this handsome and amazing man!!

I wanted to do something extra special for Father's Day this year to celebrate his first with 2 children. So I took him and the babies to Father's Day brunch with Shamu at Seaworld:-)
We sat right up next to Shamu's pool, and this is the absolute closest you can ever get to him. We enjoyed a champagne brunch while watching the whales. Bentley loved it and Andy was so happy to spend this special time with his little ones too♥

A picture with Shamu's trainer:-)

I am so blessed to have Andy as my husband, and most importantly, as the father to my children.

Sippy Cup at 6 Months

I'm so proud of my baby girl right now! I decided to start her on a sippy cup at 6 months, which I hear is the recommended age, just to see if she'd take to it or not, and she did great!  I wanted to start giving her water, especially with a family trip to Laughlin next week where temps can get up to 118, I thought it was necessary.  This is also a big deal for us because I never really paid attention to any sippy cup rules with Bentley. Once he switched to the bottle, it was very difficult to get him to try water or even milk in a cup.  He didn't start drinking from a sippy until 10-11 months old and still wouldn't give up his bottle until right before Scarlett was born. The boy LOVED his bottle. Here is my baby girl drinking water from a cup♥

San Diego Rock N Roll 1/2 Marathon!!

We did it!!!

2 months ago we set out to train for, and accomplish our first 1/2 marathon. I am very proud to say that we did it and it was an amazing experience. I also couldn't have asked for better running partners then my Husband and Dad.
In the midst of training, Andy pulled his calf muscle and was unable to run for a few weeks. He started seeing a physical therapist, and then ended up getting appendicitis just 4 weeks before the marathon. I was beginning to think he wasn't meant to run this race, but, he pulled it together and the three of us ran across that finish line, 13.1 miles later, with smiles on our faces! It wasn't easy and was actually quite painful towards the end but I would absolutely do it again, in a heartbeat:-)  No words can describe the feeling of pride, accomplishment and of course, love for our new beautiful finishers medal♥

We wore our recent "accomplishments" on our backs, and needless to say, we received plenty of extra cheers, laughs and encouragement from fellow runners, even stopped for multiple photo ops:-)
Mine- Gave Birth 6 months ago
Andy's- Appendectomy 4 weeks ago
Dad's- Cabo 2 weeks ago

At the start line, ready to get our run on!!

There were live bands at every mile and in typical fashion, my Dad hopped on the drums @mile 9!! They did Blink 182, and a song he had never heard before, it was pretty awesome.

Running on the freeway

20K never looked so good!

We did it!!

Our medals are the best♥

Bentley knew that our medals were something special, he didn't want to take it off.  One day he will be running a marathon with us:-)

Bentley's Airplane Themed 2nd Birthday

Our baby boy turned TWO!!!

Bentley has always been fascinated with airplanes, or nani's, as he calls them:-) So an airplane themed party was the obvious choice for his 2nd birthday.  I love planning and throwing parties so I started prepping for this event about 3 months out, which isn't that crazy when you have an infant and a toddler under foot...at all times. Here are all of the extra special details that went in to our little guy's big day♥

Invitations were Bentley Airline tickets to the party destination

I spent a good amount of time on the desserts for the dessert bar.  My husband just had an appendectomy, so I was completely on my own with this one!

Chocolate airplanes with cotton candy "clouds"

I also made the cake pops and chocolate covered pretzels.

Centerpieces

Goody bags included sidewalk chalk that matched the theme and airplanes made of Smarties, mini Hershey bars and lifesavers.

Welcome to Bentley's Airport!! I purchased the adorable airplane printables here

I made passports for each child;-)

It's not a party without balloons!!

 Baggage Claim:)

Happy Birthday Bentley!!
