Strip at Night (The Marathon)

We are quickly approaching Dec 2, which means....My 2nd 1/2 marathon is coming up!! This will be my 2nd half marathon in 6 months I might add...:-) After we ran the Rock N Roll San Diego half in June, I was in a lot of pain, could barely walk for a week, but somehow had a great deal of excitement and eagerness to get my run on again! What better place to do this than Las Vegas?! So Andy and I signed up for the Rock N Roll Las Vegas Marathon series, and will be running our 13.1 miles on the strip...at night!  My Dad ran with us last time and will be running this time again, along with my sister Marisa and my Mom, who just had knee surgery last week...so we're crossing our fingers for her:-) We've officially started training and the countdown has begun!!

Palm Springs Vacation

We recently enjoyed a very relaxing family vacation in Palm Springs! We planned this last minute vacation mainly because my dear husband has been working his behind off for the past couple of months, extra long days, late nights and early mornings to complete Business Plan. This trip was much needed for him...and a little break from reality was nice for me too!! We stayed in an incredible home for 4 days. By day two, Andy and I seriously wanted to buy it! (It IS on the market!;-) I can definitely see myself retiring in a place like this one day. One entire wall of the house opened up completely to the beautiful backyard with a pool, spa, an outdoor shower and tons of grassy play areas! We spent every day swimming with our little ones and they had SO much fun, it was a perfect family vacation♥

Bentley 27 Months & Scarlett 9 Months

Life with these two gets better and better each day. They are SO much fun at these ages and I never want it to end. Bentley is not yet 2 1/2, so I will call him my 27 month old, as ridiculous as that sounds! He is growing and learning so fast. Each and every day he says or does something new and amazing right before my eyes.  Bentley loves airplanes, helicopters, trucks and tractors, he is your typical boy:-) He knows that his Daddy works for Penske and whenever he sees any truck on the road, he yells out " Penske, Daddy!!"He wants to be JUST like Andy and most recently started to carry around his own little briefcase to be like his Dad♥ He also adores his little sis. He calls her "Sissy" which I think is so precious, or her nickname "Scar Scar" and has taken on the Big Brother role like a pro. Bentley knows she is not supposed to have small objects in her hands and quickly tells her "No Sissy!!" and takes it away. He plays with her all day long, chasing her, laughing and loving this little friend of his:-)  Bentley is super silly, friendly, gives hugs to everyone, full of energy and very helpful. He makes us proud every day♥

Scarlett is 9 months, my all time FAVORITE "baby" age!! She is chunky, has rolls everywhere, soft baby skin, 2 little beaver teeth, and an adorable laugh. I am embracing the whole "object permanence" stage because I know it doesn't last forever, and that I will be sad the day she stops crying whenever I step out of her view or leave the room.  She is a definite Mommy's girl.  She gives BIG smooches to her baby doll, plays with her pretend make-up, and also loves to play with soccer balls, footballs and Bentley's tools!  She is a girly girl at heart but can always keep up with big bro and do "boy" things with him too♥  Scarlett eats all types of food now, whatever we are eating, she is eating! She crawls, walks along the couch, waves "hello", can stand on her own for brief periods of time, is always happy, and still does NOT sleep through the night.  I love these two munchkins with all my heart, and even more so, I love to watch them learn and grow! They are amazing♥♥

"Stay"cation 2012

This summer was a little bit different for us and our vacations....We now had a 6 month old and a newly turned 2 year old just in time for summer vacation!! These aren't the greatest ages to travel with, I was NOT looking forward to going anywhere with 2 babies, especially long distance, so we ended up staying in San Diego for a 6 day "stay"cation. It worked out well and we were able to enjoy some kid friendly, family fun activities with our little ones:-) The Del Mar Fair was in town so we decided to give that a shot on our first day!  Bentley went on the rides by himself for the very 1st time and was our little Mr. Independent♥

 The next day we headed down to the Hyatt Regency at Mission Bay. They have a great pool with water slides and it's right on the beach! We all had an amazing time.   Bentley loved going down the water slide, over and over again, and was happy just hanging out in the pool all day with Daddy:-)  Scarlett and I relaxed in our lounge chairs and Mommy enjoyed a nice margarita or two...now that's my type of vacation;-)  They also have a water taxi that takes you straight to Seaworld, we took full advantage of that!!

The following days were spent at the beach house with Andy's family.  It's about 20 minutes from us, so we were able to go home at night and have the kids sleep in their own beds! We spent a couple of days on the sand and in the water and had our fair share of fun in the sun:-)

 

 

 

Finally, on our last day of vaycay, we took the kids to the Air and Space Museum at Balboa Park.  We knew Bentley would love seeing airplanes up close♥
